Inequality between the parties of contract of marriage and Pakistani contemporary family laws

Abstract

A family is the basic unit of a society. Marriage is a sacred and legitimate relationship between a man and woman which forms the institution of family. A strong family system strengthens the society. In other words, failure of any kind in the marriage may cause frustration and unbalancing situation in the society. A number of factors are involved in the failure of marriage, inequality between the parties of contract of marriage, is one of them. This factor, in context of Pakistani contemporary family laws, is hereby discussed in this article.
