Trends of Female Students Toward the Veil (Hijab) in the University of the Punjab: An Analysis

Abstract

This paper examines the trends of the Islamic veil among female students of the University of the Punjab and presents an analysis of its Sharia arguments, historical background and Western influences. It also presents the difference between Hijab and Sātar. The paper adopts a deductive and analytical approach. The main objective of the research is to clarify the importance of the veil in the light of the Quran and to explain the position of different jurisprudential schools regarding the face. It also includes the results of a survey regarding the veil, which examines the trends of female students of the University of the Punjab and emphasizes the importance of the existence of the Islamic teachings in the context of the intellectual challenges of the present era.
