Interpretation of the characteristics of the Prophet: A study of the biography of Syed Suleman Nadvi with reference to personal characteristics

Abstract

This paper examines the character of the Prophet (PBUH) and the traits that made him worthy of carrying the mantle of the final message from God. He possesses innumerable qualities in his personality and attributes which are present in almost every book of hadith and biography in a disciplined or scattered manner. There are many characteristics of the Holy Prophet that are specific to Him including religious, financial, and moral/ ethical obligations that either cannot be found in ordinary people or reserved for Him only for example. He also has personal attributes like justice, honesty, integrity, respect, humanity that are unique and are very important to society. The research explains the unique characteristics of the Holy Prophet and concludes that there are patterns for everyone and as a believer, He (PBUH) must be followed in his practical life.
