Abstract

Water is vital for life, but its quality and accessibility are threatened by contamination. This article examines the causes of water pollution, including industrial discharge, agricultural residue, and improper waste disposal, which introduce harmful substances into water sources, posing health risks. The study uses a qualitative approach, analyzing religious scriptures and scholarly interpretations to explore Shariah principles related to water purification. Shariah, the Islamic legal system, emphasizes environmental protection and resource conservation. The research highlights Shariah decrees against wasteful activities and the importance of hygiene. It also discusses religious methods for purifying contaminated water, such as natural filtration and prayer. By integrating Islamic values with modern practices, the article proposes a comprehensive framework for addressing water contamination. This approach aligns with ethical and spiritual values, encouraging community involvement and sustainable practices to protect water resources for future generations.s
