Abstract

There are three basic rules in reaching the meaning of the Qur’anic verses and their interpretation: (1) the Qur’an interprets the Qur’an, (2) the Sunnah interprets the Qur’an, and (3) the fundamental Arabic grammatical rules [Al-Qawa’id al-Lughawiyyah al-Usuliyyah] must be taken into serious consideration when reading the Qur’an. The Qur’an is in Arabic of its time. How could it then be possible to interpret the Qur’an without complying with fundamental grammatical rules of Qur’anic Arabic language? The present research aims at identifying, explaining, and highlighting such aberrations in the Qur’anic interpretation in the contemporary period. Muta’liqāt al-Nuū is very important part of ‘Al-Qawa’id al-Lughawiyyah al-Usuliyyah’. In this article basic rules of ‘Muta’liqāt al-Nuū and deviated examples will be quoted.
