Abstract

This research deals with conditional constraints and their importance to determine the meaning in translation of the Holy Quran to other languages. The conditional constraints have a great impact in defining meanings and highlighting its features. With these constraints the semantics of the structures vary, even if they are agreed upon on the two basic pillars. This study intends to draw out different aspects of meaning clauses, it describes all of them along with their rhetoric perspectives theoretically and empirically. There are many views of rhetoric scholars, so in this study we will focus on the attempt made by Abdul Qahir Aljurjani in his great work as well as other dominant views in this regard. This study concluded that the constraints in the composition are required by the structure of meanings especially in translations of the Holy Quran.
